The Alcohol-Free Stout Guide / Stout
StoutGuinness 0.0 is still the UK's favourite. Can anything catch it?
Diageo says Guinness 0.0 grew by double digits again. Why the stout is winning, and the alternatives worth trying.
Updated By the Stout Guide team

Diageo's annual results show Guinness 0.0 grew by double digits and kept its place as the UK's biggest alcohol-free beer brand. Guinness sales in Great Britain rose 2.9%, and Diageo plans to double Guinness production capacity.
It held up in January too. NIQ data reported by The Grocer showed Guinness 0.0, Mother Root and Madri Zero still growing strongly while low and no beer as a whole slowed to 2.8% growth in the four weeks to 24 January.
Why it works
Stout hides the missing alcohol well. Roasted malt gives body and bitterness that lager has to fake. Guinness 0.0 has 17 kcal per 100ml, about the same as a light lager.
The alternatives are smaller brewers: Nirvana's Dark & Smooth and Big Drop's Galactic Milk Stout. Our stout ranking compares all of them on taste, calories and price.

IMPOSSIBREW Enhanced Lager
If you drink stout to unwind at the end of the day, try IMPOSSIBREW. It is brewed with L‑theanine, ashwagandha and magnesium to help you relax, and it is the #1 alcohol-free beer on Trustpilot.
